We are a grassroots coalition of individuals and groups who take action to abolish the unjust death penalty in Maryland and around the country. The death penalty is proven racist, it kills the innocent, it targets the poor, it is cruel and inhumane, and it does not deter crime. It is especially unjust right here in Maryland. Our coalition is made up of representatives of local and national groups, community activists, family members and friends of death row prisoners, and anyone who wants to help abolish Maryland's death machine. By organizing demonstrations, public forums, petition drives, press events, and other activities, we aim to increase public pressure on officials not to kill the men and women imprisoned on death row, to impose a moratorium on further executions, and to abolish the death penalty once and for all.
