The Jubilee Arts Listserv is for announcements and occasional discussion about many of the newly emerging liberating and embodied arts.
Jubilee Arts is a place to share events, creative offerings, reflective essays or ideas. It's also a place to ask questions or solicit feedback on ideas or creative work. Some of the more developed featured art forms include Contact Improvisation, 5Rhythms dance method, Authentic Movement/ Contemplative Dance, InterPlay, Playback Theatre, Action Theatre, Theatre of the Oppressed, Psychodrama, Sociometry, WorldWork, Jungian methods and more.
Jubilee Arts began as a group of interdisciplinary artists rooted in the Anabaptist peace tradition, the Jubilee Troupe, who organized to energize communities through interactive, improvisational performing arts. After touring in 2005, we sough broader participation in these largely unknown arts through this list and the Jubilee Arts website.
This list weaves together the work and play of an expanding network for liberating expression. It is part of a sharing that we hope can help equip us to bring the jubilee home -- personally, in our communities and our world. 'Jubilee' refers to an ancient Hebrew call a year of forgiveness for all debts, a rest for the land and a time of community renewal.
Come join us to share, learn and embody the Jubilee!
