The Illegality of Pot is Criminal

The illegality of marijuana/hemp is criminal. Its psychoactive
properties are what are dearest to me. It is something other than
society's obey, consume, go to work, watch TV, no free thought.
Marijuana's illegality engenders so much stigma it is almost
impossible to talk rationally about it at all. It is almost
commanded to accept the underlying assumptions of the prohibition
model.

We see the protests against the Republican National Convention as
nothing more than self-congratulating exercises in dramaturgy
without much surprise or shock to "the enemy" -- the whole raison
d'etre behind creative disruption and civil disobedience. In
fact, rather than urge protestors to creatively attack the
convention in unplanned and spontaneous ways, the imbecilic
organizers have instead been spending excessive amounts of money
and time filing permits, and then filing appeals for denied
permits. What self-respecting protestors, we ask, request
permission to protest?

US atrocity in Najaf

The US assault on Najaf is a war crime. The spectacle of the
world's foremost imperialist power unleashing its overwhelmingly
superior military might against poorly armed opponents of foreign
occupation recalls the most notorious crimes of the twentieth
century, including the fascist bombardment of Guernica in Spain,
Mussolini's rape of Ethiopia, and the Nazi blitzkrieg against
Germany's European neighbors in World War II.
