David Graeber vs. The Wall Street Journal
I must confess myself confused as to why accepting a job teaching and
conducting research for an annual income roughly equivalent to that of a
train operator (at roughly twice the hours) qualifies me as a member of the
employing class. Or is your real point to assert a more general principle:
'capitalism, love it or leave it'? If so, where exactly am I supposed to go?
Outer space? Do you really think all employees who don't share their
employer's economic and political philosophy should be terminated?

ZIONIST DISTORTION OF HISTORY
By Edward C. Corrigan
In an article, "Munich,' the Travesty," published in The Washington Post on
January 13, 2006 Charles Krauthammer, a well-known Zionist and regular Post
Columnist, attacks Steven Spielberg's movie for presenting several glimpses
of the Palestinian perspective. Krauthammer and other critics of Spielberg's
movie continuously repeat discredited Zionist mythology, distort history,
ignore inconvenient facts and hide Zionist terrorism, the raping of
Palestinians, the massacres, the theft of land and ethnic cleansing of the
Palestinians with the creation of the "Jewish State" in 1948.

THE POINT OF NO RETURN: Where James Lovelock Meets BP
Media Lens
That government and big business have perpetrated climate crimes against
humanity is never news. Instead, a collective insanity of irresponsible
despair or suffocating silence rules the media. This extends even to those
editors, journalists and newspapers that the public has been persuaded to
trust.

A disturbing consensus is emerging among the scientists who study global

We must remember two crucial facts, both of which are contrary to everything
we've been raised to believe. First, civilization is fragile, and second,
humans are not.

Al Be Damned
Dennis Perrin, Un Fils d'état rouge
Liberals, when not arrogant about their righteousness, can be and usually
are true suckers & saps. Clinton worship is the main sign, a chance for libs
to shill for the death penalty, either thru lethal injection or a federal
assault on private citizens, and to lecture the poor on their bad social
habits, a Clintonite fave since the early days of welfare "reform." And
while we wait for the you-know-they're-coming justifications for President
Hillary, we have the spectacle of online libs fainting and fawning at Al
Gore's feet. "Not the Al Gore, the guy who headed the most rightwing Dem
ticket of modern times?" Yep. Him.

When asked if the U.S. should rebuild Vietnam, a country it destroyed at a
cost of three million Vietnamese lives and 58,000 U.S., his glib response
was, "Well, the destruction was mutual." The Shah Pahlevi regime, which had
come to power in Iran in a CIA-sponsored coup in 1953, was renowned for the
murderous brutality of its secret police. Carter visited the Shah in 1979
and praised him for his "progressive administration" at a time when the
Shah's military was gunning down thousands of unarmed demonstrators.

Dusting off the Brown-shirts and Jackboots
Mike Whitney, ICH
Why else would Bush claim the extraordinary powers of a dictator? In just
months Bush has claimed that he has the right to incarcerate citizens
without charging them with a crime, torture prisoners, unilaterally declare
war, and spy on Americans. Why? Is Bin Laden somehow weakened by the steady
erosion of civil liberties? Or, is the White House cabal anticipating
massive civil disorder from their planned economic meltdown?

The Proposed Iranian Oil Bourse
Krassimir Petrov, Energy Bulletin
The Iranian government has finally developed the ultimate "nuclear" weapon
that can swiftly destroy the financial system underpinning the American
Empire. That weapon is the Iranian Oil Bourse slated to open in March 2006.
It will be based on a euro-oil-trading mechanism that naturally implies
payment for oil in Euro. In economic terms, this represents a much greater
threat to the hegemony of the dollar than Saddam's, because it will allow
anyone willing either to buy or to sell oil for Euro to transact on the
exchange, thus circumventing the U.S. dollar altogether.

Target: Iran ... Here we go again
Mickey Z, Press Action
Now we have Iran...a nation with the audacity to make decisions without
first asking for U.S. permission. We are faced with the spectacle of America
(the only nation to have used nuclear weapons on civilians) warning the
world about how nuclear weapons might, well, be used on civilians. We can't
allow just anyone to sneak around and acquire such technology (well, except
Israel). We can't allow those Commie Chinese (Cold War II, anyone?) to arm
men so evil they might, well, use nuclear weapons on civilians. Before you
know it, Iran will be using depleted uranium and white phosphorous, abusing
prisoners, setting up interrogation centers in Eastern Europe, spying on its
own people, and fixing elections at home and abroad.

Why Iran?
Stephen Gowans, What's Left
The increasingly frequent demonization of Iranian President Mahmoud
Ahmadinejad in the Western media has become an integral part of the
stepped-up efforts of Washington, London, the EU-3 and Tel Aviv to bring
Iran under US control, efforts that may, if scattered newspapers reports are
to believed, culminate in the aerial bombing by US or Israeli forces or both
of Iranian nuclear facilities early this spring.

Evo Morales and the Zapatistas: Latin America's Indians on the Move ... in
Different Directions
John Ross, CounterPunch
While Mexico's profoundly Mayan Zapatista Army of National Liberation
launches a vehement anti-electoral campaign, dissing the political class,
eschewing power, and seeking to build autonomous alliances down below, Evo
Morales, a 46 year-old acculturated Quechua Indian farm leader, will take
power from the top when he is sworn in as the first Indian president of
majority-Indian Bolivia.
