This concerns a bus that is going to the NCOR activist conference in
D.C. from Lawrence.

Two corrections:
1) The bus is actually leaving the night of the 7th, still returning on
the 12th. Oops!

2) Somehow I forgot to mention where the conference will be: American
University in Washington, D.C.

bus rules:
I know rules can suck, but we've developed these in hopes of helping
everyone to feel as comfortable as they can on the bus. basically, we want
this trip to be safe and fun for everyone. the bus needs to be a safe
space.

1) be respectful of everyone on the bus. If someone asks you to stop
something you're doing, stop. (this includes if you're makin' out with
someone and another person feels uncomfortable being around it. and no sex
in the bus!)
If the driver asks something of the bus (to quiet down, etc.), please
listen. racist/sexist/homophobic/ableist etc. language and behavior will
not be tolerated. When we have problems, we can talk them out, and
hopefully learn from each other and find a solution that makes everyone
comfortable. If someone is causing harm to someone else and refuses to
stop, and no other solution can be found, they may be asked to leave the
bus.

2) no guns or illegal weapons, no drugs, no alcohol on the bus. No smoking
or chewing tobacco while you're on the bus. We really, really mean it.
this isn't about judging your choices, it's about making the trip safe and
successful. If we get pulled over and someone has something illegal, we
probably won't get to NCOR. By the way, if we do get pulled over, keep
quiet and let the driver deal with it.

3) no animals, except obviously for service animals.

4) It is your responsibility to get to the bus in time to leave! When we
figure out (sometime before the trip) when exactly the bus will have to
leave D.C. to get everyone home, we'll announce it. People will have to be
back in time for work and school, so the bus absolutely cannot wait for
folks who are late. that includes if you're in jail, so plan your
activities with that in mind.

these are the rules we generally use on the bus. If you have needs from
group behavior that aren't covered by these rules, you can email Jordan
(scritch at riseup.net) or me (lexy at riseup.net) about them and we'll do our
best to figure things out.

A lot of people have expressed interest, get yr seats fast! remember, you
can call them, but it doesn't stick until you send us the cash.

nocoast to the east coast,
Kalila
