[dc-critmass-list] We need to get our asses back in the grass!

Ok. I've been sitting on the sidelines for way too long now... I haven't
ridden in a CM in quite some time because I have felt like the political
agenda hasn't really been about biking, transportation (as someone mentioned
in another thread). I know I would be more interested in riding if

a) the rides were about biking, transportation, and other local issues
b) the rides were NOT about <insert issue du jour here>
c) the rides were NOT about pissing of the Polizei

The last time I did ride, I got the sense that there were others who were
there to support biking and alternative transportation. I don't know if they
still ride with CM. I guess my point is that if CM wants to be a "vehicle"
(pun intended) for all kinds of protests it will probably never be very
effective at conveying the message about biking, transportation, etc... I
support a lot of the other issues people want represented in the CM rides...
I just prefer to keep things focused on taking down the automobile
establishment...

I'm interested to hear whether or not others in the CM community feel the
same way... I get the sense that there is a faction that wants to use CM for
anti-capitalist / neo-anarchist type demonstrations... and there is another
faction that's more about biking.
