Shaw EcoVillage trains youth to be catalysts for sustainable change in
Washington, DC’s urban neighborhoods.  Chain Reaction educates youth about
the role of the bicycle in sustainable communities, equips youth with job
skills, and provides residents of Washington, DC, with safe, affordable,

Chain Reaction Educational Coordinator 
$9-12/ hour  
The Educational Coordinator reports to the Chain Reaction Program Director
and is expected to work 20 hours per week.  The Educational Coordinator
must be present for all Chain Reaction educational programming. The Program
Coordinator will be able to work well with high risk and have basic
mechanical knowledge of bicycles. Duties include but are not limited to:

* Providing quality instruction for all Chain Reaction’s educational
programming
* Working with the Program Director developing curriculum and lesson plans
for all programs including the After School Earn-a- Bike Program, in school
Bike Club Partnerships, weekend rides  
* Assist Program Director in seeking out new community partnerships and
expand Chain Reactions educational programs
* Compile monthly report to Program Director tracking progress on all
educational programs. 

All Shaw EcoVillage staff are expected to start shifts on time and ready to
work, report to supervisor at least once a day and conduct his or herself
in a professional manner at all times.  All Chain Reaction action staff
need to be comfortable working with youth and be able to provide excellent
client service to community members.
