[dc-critmass-list] WARNING-suspicious call for Oct 19 ride on Indymedia

  Someone posted a call for a ride on Oct 19th at 6PM on DC Indymeida and ONLY on Indymedia, along with a call for STEALING BIKES.
 
  They called for this ride at the same time as the workshop on then racist history of Georgetown that immediately preceded the IMF/World Bank protest march on Georgetown.
 
  There is the possability that this call came form the same people who posted a bogus article on DC Indymedia last Spring calling for vandalizing the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
 
  Another possibility is that cops wanting to steal bikes from comms/scouts for the Georgetown action posted this, hoping that anyone doing bike comms would be in the ride-and that the call for riding stolen bikes would be used to justify a "bike registration" bike roundup. My advice is to stay well away from Dupont Circle from 5:30 until at least 7PM on Friday, Oct 19.
