[dc-critmass-list] Friday 's ride.

There was a lot of good in the ride! The turn-out (au students coming back?), the love from the motorists, the big-ass flag flying high behind the bumble-bee rider and the other flags, the boomboxes in the front and back, the mom-dad-baby family riders.

I hope people can talk about the ill motorist who drove onto a rider's tire, demanded rider ride away, then got out and pushed him before 2 SS (secret service) riders joined the scene to harrass another rider in a ridiculous childlike manner.

I heard that the Mass was a bit divided when the motorist rammed the rider. True? It's not what I recall, but I was about butt last then and didn't see the actual collision, just the aftermath.

What could we do to make the scene more in our favor?

I think:
A pre-ride address for anyone to voice how we should ride, to encourage sticking together, and to draw up a route does a lot of good.

It's good that a few stuck with the trapped rider while the mass continued.

Crook officers coming around like the SS rider can be identified by a badge. As some others reminded us later that night, we should be recording the badge number, name, and even take a camera-phone portrait of their mug to have all the information needed to file a complaint, even if at that moment no one says they want to file a complaint.

What up with moving Mass to the last Friday (like most of the world) in the future and promoting the hell out of it so everyone knows? Any wrong still seen in that?

I just wanted to thank e'eryone for such a fun time on Friday night. It was my first mass in the district, and it was really a blast. Everyone was so nice, and the after-party was really a good time too! Thanks for the hospitality and very welcoming attitude, not to mention the beautiful scenery. I hope to see just as many riders, and make just as many new friends next time. Have a good week!
