Sept 22 is International Car Free Day. Last year we got a very late start
on planning for the event, but this year should be different. We were able
to get funding set aside to promote the event on a regional basis, sort of
like Bike to Work Day. It should be a good week long celebration of biking,
walking and transit. Sept 21st is Walkingtown DC, the 22nd is Intl Car Free
Day, and 27th is the return of Bike DC.

Just got a national Critical Mass e-mail from a friend. It talked about a 22
September national Bike-Only day. Was that last year, 2007? Or to be this
year?

Light up your bike next friday!! Festival of lights on bikes swarms the
ink-black streets of your city. The spectacle glows brighter with
participation. Bring any kind of light and let's ride into the brighter side
of Earth's orbit in these darkest days.
Bring the light to Dupont Circle 6pm Friday January 4th!
Weather forecast: a clear night with a low of 33 degrees. Sounds perfect!

Starting in 1976 Bogota, Columbia, according to this announcement a Cyclovia
is when a street or multiple streets are "dominated" by our favorite
motorless vehicles.
Bikewalk Alexandria, in promoting one for this Sunday, went out of their way
to invite riders of any age, economic class, though still demanding riders
under the age of 18 be accompanied by an adult.

Last Friday a group of about 15 carried the ride for Feb, including someone
fresh on a bike again since childhood, an Alexandria commuter, the College
Park repper, and that beautifully rude tall bike biker. We got and fixed one
flat in Georgetown.
Upon an ending rest in Asylum over food drink and getting to know eachother,
a resolve emerged to handout business cards as a way to build the ride and
let people know why and what is happening.
I'm a little curious about local print shops. But here are some of the free
business card suppliers found on the internet. Go through and share which
templates/designs are the better. What should be on the card?
