[dc-critmass-list] Bike moving violation

When I got a ticket for not stopping at a light in DC, it was a $5 ticket
which I forgot about and didn't pay. That was last September and nothing has
happened. I also didn't have an ID and they threatened to bring me to jail
then if I didn't give them my name. The officer also wrote my ticket for the
wrong date saying that it was October 26 instead of September. Nothing
happened. Those were the Capitol police by the botanical gardens.

In Richmond during Slaughterama, two of us were pulled over for running a
red light at 3am with no one else around and given $157 tickets ($100 + $57
in processing fees). We went back to Richmond and contested it and mine was
cancelled because I was 'polite' to the officer who pulled us over and the
other rider (who also does CM) apparently wasn't so he had to pay. This was
to a cop who boasted that night that he hadn't lost a case against a cyclist
in over 40 years.
