howdy fellow ithacans -
i haven't been around town much this summer, being on the road for
conferences and gatherings such at the Earth First! national rendevous.
well, i'm home now and me and Eric (who was also at the rendevous) are
doing a presentation at Juna's about EF!, a successful action in the fight
against King Coal, and the no compromise eco-defense movement in general.

The Earth is dying.  No, the Earth is being killed.
Global climate change and peak oil is bringing society and the planet
towards the point of no return.  The extraction and burning of carbon
fuels is massively destructive to bioregions, to jobs, and to our lives.
It is destructive from start to finish.

Just two weeks ago, five Ithacans participated in shutting down the Clinch
River Coal Plant in Virginia. This is part of Earth First!s long-term
campaign against Mountain Top Removal  Coal mining that’s disappearing
southern Appalachia. Come here stories from the front lines and learn
about the no-compromise environmental movement.
