Northeastern Permaculture Convergence, July 6 – 8
Local Organizing

The Finger Lakes Permaculture Institute is hosting the 2007  
Northeastern Permaculture Convergence. Permaculture is booming  
throughout the Northeast. The rapid growth of the Finger Lakes  
Permaculture Institute and our pairing with the Cayuga Nature Center  
has given us a great opportunity to converge upon the local area some  
of the most creative permaculture-minded people internationally,  
within our region, and from here in the Finger Lakes.

The Permaculture Institute is putting a call out to committed  
permaculture designers, practitioners, teachers and activists who  
would like to help organize the scheduling, logistics, and other  
conference-like needs for weekend events at the Cayuga Nature Center.

If you would like to take responsibility for a part of this weekend,  
come meet Michael Burns, Karryn Olson-Ramanujan, and Steve Gabriel on  
Tuesday, May 15th (7p.m.) at the Cayuga Nature Center. General  
organizing meetings are also planned May 22nd and June 19th.  
Organizers can also expect to meet at other times in smaller work  
groups. If you are unable to attend the first meeting, please contact  
us to stay connected and aware of other meetings and needs.

This is a great chance for anyone who would like to connect with  
great people, projects and ideas all coming together in own neck of  
the woods.  We need your help to ensure the convergence is well- 
planned, events run smoothly and that the participants (both local  
and our visitors) have shared, networked, learned, and left with a  
stronger movement to regenerate our world.

The Permaculture Institute seeks activists who can take on the  
responsibilities of decision-making, planning, and implementing with  
the hard work needed to see that workshops happen, campsites are set- 
up wisely, food is plentiful, music is sweet, garbage is picked up,  
communication flows, campfires spark, demonstrations work and that  
visitors to the Finger Lakes know the beauty and brilliance of our  
land and people.
