Hi Folks

I receive these newsletters from friends I met when I was working in 
Zambia, who have been doing excellent work in Malawi. The newsletters, 
though written for Malawians, contain excellent teaching materials, 
easily adapted. I can't send attachments to the listserve, but they now 
have a website with electronic back issues on them. I highly recommend 
having a look. Info follows.

activity.

Please feel free to share this newsletter widely with anyone - we hope 
that everyone in the world becomes interested in adapting our systems so 
that they are sustainable.

My work for the past year has been to integrate this thinking into the 
Ministry of Education - first through the primary schools, but with a 
vision of linking it throughout every curriculum.  The main goal is to 
improve food and nutrition security, but additional skills will be 
gained by the teacher, pupils and community members in the process.  The 
ministry is running the pilot in 8 districts at the moment but they have 
already been asked to scale up further. 

It is a very exciting time in Malawi and in the region - sustainable 
thinking and actions just may prevail in my lifetime!
