Klee Benally and his film Snowbowl Effect

Monday, February 5th, 7pm
Watermargin Co-op, 103 McGraw Place

For more info, contact tam34 at cornell.edu

Klee Benally is the director of Indigenous Action Media
(http://www.indigenousaction.org), lead singer/guitarist for the band
Blackfire (http://www.blackfire.net), and a volunteer for the Save the
Peaks Coalition, a grassroots organization that defends a sacred mountain,
the San Francisco Peaks, from a ski resort's destructive plans to produce
man-made snow with contaminated waste water.

Klee will be in Ithaca to screen his most recent documentaries, "The
Snowbowl Effect (56 min)," and "Making a Stand at Desert Rock (8 min)."
Klee will discuss the many issues presently facing the Black Mesa region
of the Navajo/Dine reservation near Flagstaff, Arizona. He will connect
the dots from resistance to coal companies and corporate land grabs, to
People's efforts to save sacred sites and indigenous cultures around the
world from the destructive forces of globalization.
