CAYUGA NATURE CENTER OFFERS MAPLE SYRUP FOR SALE TO PUBLIC
Ithaca, NY

During the months of February and March, CNC staff will work with 
volunteers, school groups, and the general public to tap, collect, and 
boil over 500 gallons of maple syrup. To help with upfront costs for 
materials and educational programs CNC is offering shares of its harvest 
to community members at a variety of levels. We welcome help with the 
harvest! Please contact us for more information.

Share purchasing is a method of assisting agricultural production by 
paying for harvests prior to their production. This pre-season income 
helps to defray costs that would otherwise limit the production and 
educational capabilities of the Maple Sugaring program at CNC. In 
exchange for their purchase, shareholders receive part of the harvest 
and are encouraged to participate in the daily production of syrup and 
associated educational events which will begin in late February.

Orders can be picked up at MapleFest 2007, which will be held on 
Saturday, March 17 and Sunday, March 18 at CNC's main lodge off Rt. 89. 
The festival will from from 10 am to 4pm and feature a full pancake 
breakfast, live music and other entertainment, tapping and boiling 
demonstrations, sugarbush tours, and much more.
