Greetings Northeastern Permaculture Folks:

I am writing on behalf of my group members to offer our home and
community as the site of the 2007 Summer NEPC Gathering.

We are currently building the Finger Lakes Permaculture Institute in the
finger lakes bioregion of New York State, closest to the mid-sized city
of Ithaca.

We would like to see this event organized in a relaxed but professional
manner and encourage local residents to attend workshops and
presentations. We would like to provide food and ask for a small fee
(shooting for around $50) to cover costs, mostly food.

The gathering would be held at the Cayuga Nature Center
(www.cayuganaturecenter.org) which is 130 beautiful acres of forest,
field, and fallow farm 5 miles North of Ithaca. There is lake access
close by for swimming and numerous hiking trails. The center is a
historic and rustic lodge that offers a commercial kitchen, dining room,
and large open room for gathering, music, dancing, etc. Our facilities
have handled crowds up to 1,000 in the past. This land is our current
home where we are working to help develop a design and implement the site.

We are thinking of holding this event beginning on the evening of July
13 (Friday) and ending on Sunday, July 15 in the afternoon/evening. On
Sunday the nature center will hold its monthly Cayuga Coffeehouse event
which features local, organic brunch, live music, and nature activities
for the whole family.

We can offer lodging indoors and out under the stars, and also off site
at local B&B's or motels. Ithaca is a great spot for outdoor recreation,
dining, and entertainment.

To summarize:

Summer 2007 NEPC Gathering
July 13 - 15
at the
Cayuga Nature Center

Featuring workshops, presentations,
break out sessions, games, music,
and fun!

Sliding Scale $50 - 100 per adult (?)

We look forward to supporting the movement and it's wonderful
individuals by hosting this event. Please contact
us with questions, thoughts, feedback, etc.
