I believe the administrators of the list can change the "reply to" option to the individual sender's email rather than the whole list. Many lists I'm on are set up this way as it prevents the need to manually replace the email address in a reply, avoid mistakes such as mine below.
However, if that can't be changed and the risk is just too great, I can be removed from this list so as not to again offend.
My apologies,
Andria

Hey everyone,
I'd like to make the suggestion that specific responses to posts that are of a personal nature be sent directly to the person, and not posted to the entire list.
This will help cut down on our incoming email.
Below are two good examples of what I think don't need to be posted to the entire list.
Chris

Hi Tom, thanks so much for your offer to help! I think our schedules will work out well. Once Amanda has finished acquiring the materials we'll let you know and schedule. Thanks!!

We're going to be hosting a
gathering in mid August for which we'd like to build 2 composting toilets
and a solar shower. It's starting to be crunch time so we're looking for
helping building these. In exchange you will of course be invited to the
gathering, which will be a blast, or we can hook you up with a free range
heritage chicken or two for your trouble. Or maybe you have an upcoming
project we can help you with (after August, please!) Open to negotiation!
Andrea--I am very interested in giving you a hand with your
projects. I am a master composter and I'm interested in both the
composting toilet and the solar hot water heater. Please let me
know when, where, etc. I am retired so I can meet to help during
the week, pending other appointments I might have. In fact, during
the week is better than weekends for me, for the most part. Take
care. Tom
