i may be remembering this wrong but a few years ago when there was a outbreak of meningitis among college students, my son was a freshman...
the research i did at the time said that if u r healthy and not partying alot and getting enough sleep and good food etc there was not much of a danger of a college student contracting this disease...but that since many college students r not leading particularly healthy lifestyles, it was wiser to get them a vaccine...
my son and i discussed it and we decided tog that taking the vaccine was not necessary for him...
of course, it turned out ok this time for us and for that, i am very grateful...i appreciate the fact that my son and i were able to make this decision w/o govt pressure to comply...
i am not against vaccines and/or antibiotics per se...just against a law requiring mandatory...
i suspect that politics has more to do w nys' contemplation of this requirement than any actual scientific sense...but i am sure willing to admit that i could be wrong...i often am...lol...does that make me a superstitious fool?...ahhhh, maybe...

That doesnt mean all vaccines are indispensible. Nor does it mean antibiotics should be everywhere, as our culture is starting to understand.
I fail to see how meningitis and HPV equilibrate, and am grateful for the vaccine for the former, since most cases of contraction result in death. I would very much not want to be required to subject myself to the latter, since HPV is present in the skin of most of the human population asymptomatically.
