Dear Friends,

Please save the date for NY Green Fest 2009, and plan to join us for a weekend
next summer sharing skills for sustainable living and sustainable politics on
the Alfred University campus in upstate New York. The festival will be
Fri.-Sun., Aug. 7-9, 2009.    Green Fest is a benefit for the Green Party of
New York, and is open to all who are interested in sustainable living and
sustainable politics.

We hope those of you who offered workshops and music last summer will be
willing to do a workshop or perform in Alfred, and that you may know of others
who would also be interested. We have a number of classrooms and a small
theater available for workshops and performances. Workshops and performances
may also be conducted outdoors or in our large tent on the campus quadrangle. 
We are also looking for green-friendly exhibitors to set up tents and sell
their own crafts, local food items, books and renewable energy systems
outdoors on the quadrangle. Please reply to this email with your ideas.

We have arranged lodging and meals on the Alfred campus. Dorm rooms, camping and
the Saxon Inn will be available on campus. Local bed and breakfasts are also
available. Meals prepared from locally-grown food will be served at the Alfred
University dining hall.  Alfred University in located in the picturesque,
small village of Alfred, New York. Alfred is in rural Allegany County, 80
miles south of Rochester. The Short Line Bus runs several buses daily between
Alfred, Westchester, New York City and Long Island. Green Fest will arrange
buses from Rochester for attendees.
