Dear Permaculture enthusiasts,
My partner Andy and I are aspiring farmers/orchardists about to embark on a
bicycle tour of the Eastern U.S. this summer. We are hoping to meet growers
and land stewards of various kinds. We are permaculture enthusiasts
interested in tree crops, pasture farming, alternative building, mushroom
cultivation, intentional community, and sustainable forestry.
There are lots of farms, wineries, and other places to visit in the Finger
Lakes region. Does anyone have suggestions for especially inspiring or
innovative places to visit? We need to narrow down our options!
If you have a homestead, city lot, or farm that we might be interested in,
we offer you our labor in exchange for seeing your site and having some
time to talk with you, and hopefully to pitch a tent for a night or two.
We're not sure when we'll be in the Finger Lakes region exactly, but likely
in early July.
Rather than plugging up the listserve, contact me directly
(mcgu0139 at umn.edu) if you're interested or would like more information.
Thanks!
Megan Kranz-McGuire
