As per previous posting:
*if you do want to unsubscribe,* please go to the list info
page: http://lists.mutualaid.org/mailman/listinfo/jubileetroupe, enter
your email address at the bottom and you will get a short list of
options where you can directly unsubscribe. In any case, if you could
do me the favor of unsubscribing this way rather that through the
list (and administrator), my sleep with thank you -- and you'll get it done
right away.

Dear friends,
Thanks for your patience with this process of change in the
Jubileetroupe/Jubilee Arts listserv. I wanted to say a few words as the
list administrator to make this as painless as possible. Hey, maybe
even fun. And keep this for your records if you want to remember any of
the details.
In case you didn't catch the first announcement buried in the
retreat report, the Jubilee Troupe has disbanded and at the same time,
moved toward being part of a wider network of artist-seeker-activists...
"Jubilee Arts" in part, through this listserv. We have decided to give
this list reciprocity which means, as a member, you can also post to
it. I realize that changes the character of the list and understand if
it's too much to continue with conversation. But please read!
First, i have changed the auto-reply settings so that you won't easily
reply to the whole list accidentally unless you actually select it. I
have also temporarily set an "emergency moderation" since so many people
were sending list emails to unsubscribe. Both these changes should take
care of a good many extraneous emails for which i heartily apologize!
But if you do want to reduce your intake or unsubscribe i'll need your
help unless i'm to stay up 'till 1 AM tomorrow morning too... read on...!
Second, if you are curious and want to lurk but not be inundated with
individual emails -- i suggest you go to the list info page:
http://lists.mutualaid.org/mailman/listinfo/jubileetroupe as Carol
suggested, enter your email address at the bottom, make up a password
and then choose DIGEST. This will condense all the day's messages into
one email so you can "peruse headlines" as a way of skimming. That of
course only applies if we actually have list traffic on a given day.
Third, *if you do want to unsubscribe, *please go to the list info
page: http://lists.mutualaid.org/mailman/listinfo/jubileetroupe , enter
your email address at the bottom and you will get a short list of
options where you can directly unsubscribe. Feel free to send me a note
if you still want to be receive special future event announcements. In
any case, if you could do me the favor of unsubscribing this way rather
that through the list (administrator), my sleep with thank you!
Finally, it warrants clarifying, that we former jubilee troupe members
and friends opened this list up with the intention of:
1. sharing your own events related to arts-faith-culture/social
change/liberation that might be of interest to others on the list
(currently 270 people [almost all] from across the US);
2. sharing and soliciting ideas about your own creative work and play
for the benefit of the larger body of artists/seekers/activists
gathered;
3. asking and responding to questions about your own (and others')
creative, spiritual and activist life;
4. having a forum to generally explore this juncture of being
artist-seeker-activist, especially in a North American and "peace
church" context and especially related to embodied and often
improvisational arts. Having said that, we welcome those from
beyond this identity, religious tradition and artistic experience!
Indeed i know many on the list who are not Christian, don't consider
themselves "artists" or "activists" and "don't dance" (or do theater).
Welcome! Art, i think, like God, eventually transcends all our boundaries.
With these intentions in mind, i hope it's clear that we need to respect
the virtual "community space" that's emerging here in similar ways that
we would respect "real" community space. Please then direct any
explicitly personal and/or logistical messages to the appropriate
folks. As an administrator (for the time being), i hope not to
intervene or moderate discussion very often at all, but i understand
that it sometimes comes with this role. I understand that creativity
flourishes in "welcoming space" and hope this can be that kind of haven.
Having said all that, this is still an experiment. We may still need to
make some more adjustments based on your feedback. We never imagined
this as a chatty high-traffic discussion group, but I'm just as curious
as Jay to see where it goes!
Now i step aside and let your juices also flow....
peace now,
chris
