Colombia Mobilization Vigil to close the School of the Americas (SOA) &
Lobby Action, 11am-5pm - Upper Senate Park, North Side of US Capitol on
Constitution Avenue, NW (between New Jersey & Delaware Avenues, NW -
Red Line to Judiciary Square or Union Station Metro) - The US Army
School of Americas (SOA), based in Fort Benning, Georgia, trains Latin
American soldiers in combat, counter-insurgency, and counter-narcotics.
Graduates of the SOA are responsible for some of the worst human rights
abuses in Latin America. This vigil will include programmed activity
from 11am-12noon and 4pm-5pm honoring the victims of
SOA grads, particularly the Colombian victims. From 12-4pm there will
be opportunities for people to share information from their lobby
