Minutes from MGJ General Meeting

Essential Information:

THE DATE OF THE RACE HAS CHANGED!  ITS IS NOW GOING TO
BE ON MAY 21ST.
 
THE TIMELINE OF EVENTS HAS ALSO CHANGED.  SEE BELOW.

Workings Group Report backs:

Outreach
-	Will announce the event on the IMC calendar.
-	Will do a phone banking a couple days prior to the
event.
-	There is a list of groups that need to be alerted
about the action.  Folks should take a look at the
list and contact groups that they are connected to. 
Should be available in electronic format soon.
-	Will have a fact sheet available soon.
-	Need folks to do Outreach at the anti-Nazi demo on
Saturday and the Washington Peace Center fundraiser on
Friday night.  
-	NEEDS HELP WITH WHEATSPASTING AND PHONE BANKING!
-	Next meeting TBA

Scenario
-	The schedule of events will be as follows:
4-5 PM Rally
5-6 PM Race Set-up
6-6:30 PM Race to the Bottom
6:30 – 7 PM Rally and Awards Ceremony
7 PM: Dinner
-	We don’t have permits yet but it looks likely that
we will get them soon.
-	Next meeting with the at the Dorothy Day Catholic
Worker House on Tuesday at 7:30 PM

Media
-	Has written press releases that will be sent out
soon.
-	There will be a press conference on May 15th at noon

Arts
-	Needs help making stuff for the race.  Workdays are
Thursday from 6-10 PM and Sunday from 1- 6 PM at 405
Beach Ave in Takoma Park.

Date Change Discussion

The groups consensed to move the date of the race to
May 21st due to the fact that the WEF will not be
meeting on the 23rd.  Scenario agreed to meet to
revamp things and bring a new scenario to the big
group.  (See new timeline above.)
What we need for the Race and who is working on it:

MC for Rally and Stage Manger (Neil and Jeff)
Money Collectors (Rashida, Donna, Martin and friends)
Registration People (Rashida, Donna and Barry)
Translators (Jeff will find someone)
Race Setter-Upers
-	Police/INS to put up hurdles (Brant and Scott)
-	People to hold banner during rally (Will get people
on the day.)
-	Race Managers/Directors/Coms (Adam and Laura)
-	Announcers (???)
Teams of Runners (Adam and Martin; NEED MORE TEAMS!)	
Spectators
