Friends,
We have two fundraising events for the Mobilization for Global Justice
slated for this Saturday, September 14th. Good thing, as we need to take
time out of our organizing to relax and have fun . . . and raise some
money!!
One of our events is an afternoon Barbeque and the other is a dance party --
please attend both, as their times don't conflict, and help out where needs
are listed below!!
1. Barbeque injustice (and grill some veggies) in Takoma
Where: 7125 Piney Branch Road NW, Takoma Metro Stop
When: 3pm to 10pm, THIS Saturday September 14th
Why: As Twisted Sister says, "we need to BBQ injustice, as we are not going
to take it anymore!"
$10-20 donations requested at the door -- no one turned away! There will be
food for vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters, but please feel free to bring
some more!
Our friend from UFCW, Joey Hipolito, has volunteered his new house in Takoma
for an afternoon barbeque but he needs some help.
Needs: Someone to collect money and pass Mgj flyers and information (many of
the people who will be there don't know that much about us), people to set
up and clean up. Folding chairs, any tiki torches would also be helpful as
would a second grill, so picky vegetarians and vegans can have their own!
Directions:
Metro: One and a half blocks behind the Takoma Metro Station (Red) - From
the station walk under the Metro tracks bridge, take your first right onto
Blair road where the Amoco is, you'll pass the B&B Catering and my house
sits at the lighted intersection.
For all you driving limos: Coming from downtown, direct your chauffeur to go
straight up 13th St. NW which turns into Piney Branch

2. Dance for Global Justice!
NEEDS: Bring your Dance music!!
Where and When: 9pm, THIS Saturday, 9/14, 1722 Kilbourne Place NW (Columbia
Heights Metro -- Green Line; Take Irving 2 blocks west from the metro and
take a right on Mt. Pleasant Street. Kilbourne will be your next left)
What: Music, drinks, candle- lit garden for the mellow; did we mention
DANCING?
Why: Its a fundraiser for the Mobilization for Global Justice, so bring
your friends and $10- 20, and yes, your dancing shoes. No one turned away

More world, less bank!
Rise up and dance!
