[mgj-announce] MGJ community working group

Hi All:

At the last MGJ meeting, we discussed forming a working group that would try to figure out ways in which MGJ can work with existing DC-based community groups to:
*strengthen our ties
*help out with local actions
*show that we're not just around during big mobilizations
*maybe take the lead on a local issue or two ourselves.

Calling everyone who is interested to bring their ideas to a brainstorm to generate ideas about:  
*what should the scope of our work be?
*what capacity do we have?
*what local groups should we be working with?
*what local issues can we work on to make local-global connection?
*how does this work fit into short and long-term MGJ goals?
*and more

Proposed time/date:
Wed, Oct 30
6:30 pm at St Stephens -16th and Newton
(the MGJ general meeting is at 7:30 that night)

Let me know if you think you can make it, or if you want to be involved, but that time doesn't work for you.
