The Mobilization for Global Justice presents
WHO CONTROLS WHAT YOU EAT?
Teach-in and Discussion on Access to Food in Washington DC and the World.
When: Thursday June 2 2005, 6:30 - 8:30 pm.
Where: All Souls Unitarian Church, 1500 Harvard St. NW (16th and Harvard
St; entrance on Harvard St.)
Why do some people in DC have access to healthy food and others don't?
How do biotechnology and chemicals in farming affect the environment and
our health?
How do the government, big agribusiness, the World Bank, and World Trade
Organization hurt small farmers in the US and worldwide?
What are people doing about all this?
Find out about these issues, and share your insights and organizing
strategies on how to address them, at this event.
There will be brief presentations by the speakers, followed by a lot of
time for discussion.
Directions: From Columbia Heights Metro on Green Line, take Southbound
exit, go 2 blocks South on 14th St., take a right on Harvard St. All Souls
Church is on the left side, on the block between 15th and 16th St. You can
also take the S1, S2, and S4 buses to 16th St. and Columbia Road NW.
