Here's a list of VOLUNTEER NEEDS for the Oct. 20 IMF/WB march and people's tribunal. (Meet at Franklin Park, 13th, 14th, I & K St. NW, at 12:30 pm, march to the IMF/World Bank.)
1. March guides - people who will know the march route and guide it along. They will also have bullhorns and chant sheets to help lead chants. They'll also hand out banners/signs/puppets at the start of the march and collect them at the end. March guides will be given a little training with the march route etc. at 11 am in Franklin Park, so you don't need to know the march route beforehand.
2. Setup/cleanup crew - people to do various tasks including the following:
-Set up the sound system (and stage if we have one) at Frankin Park, break it down, transport it to Murrow Park, and set it up there for the tribunal. This task may require some "heavy lifting".
-Set up chairs for the tribunal judges.
-Clean up both parks afterward to make sure we're not fined for littering.
Both these sets of people need to be at Franklin Park at 11 am - so if you're planning on going on the gentrification tour, you probably shouldn't volunteer for these roles.
3. A few videographers and still photographers to document the entire event from start to finish. We tentatively have one videographer, may be two, but a couple more wouldn't hurt. And we have no designated still photographers.
Anyone who is available, please take on one of these roles! Please RSVP to me. Thanks!
-Basav
