Warm spiritual greetings, In the absence of any coordinated housing, food, and
cooperation beyond April 22nd (should any of us prefer to stay on in D.C.), I
doubt that there will be a large presence of San Francisco bay area
participants at the upcoming spring riseup in D.C. April 19-22. I don't really
understand why the ACC is choosing to wait until October to co-organize a
convergence space, etc., given the seriousness and immediacy of the world
situation...it looks to me like the whole show is about to blow! October is a
very long half year away...although I'm not part of the D.C. ACC and hence have
not been at their meetings, it's my view that this longterm strategy is VERY
optimistic. Speaking for myself, I am willing to come to D.C. and participate,
and I am willing to live in D.C. beyond April 22nd. The homeless groups I have
contacted (I've been to D.C. five times to cook for the homeless at Zacchaeus
Kitchen, was at A16, and volunteered at the D.C. IMC), couldn't care less about
my being there, probably because they aren't getting anything from me
presently. As I read these IMC postings going on and on about our "solidarity",
I wonder if the U.S. left even has any significant internal "solidarity". If
there really is any, go ahead and contact me at ecocrafter at riseup.net. While I
continue to wonder what is real on the American left and what is imagined, I'll
keep sitting hours of daily meditation with my Chinese monk friends, and my
Tibetan buddies, which seems for the moment the best thing that I can do.
