To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing to make a claim against the city for damage to my bicycle,
which occurred while the bike was in Metro Police custody on April 19,
2002 through April 23, 2002. This is a written notice of a claim for
damages, along with an estimate of the cost of fixing the damaged
wheels.
Date of Incident: April 19, 2002
Exact Location: 21st and L Streets, NW
Approximate Time: 7:00 PM
Cause: Police confiscated my bike and threw it into pile of bikes with
approximately 40 others.
Circumstances: Police surrounded me and other bike riders that were
riding as a group. They ordered us off our bikes and took my bike. It
was returned to me April 23, 2002. Both wheels were bent beyond repair
and need to be replaced.

Enclosed is receipt for the bike, as well as the repair estimate.
