You or your organization can call a discussion circle on May 18. All that is need is for you to call 10 to 20 people together on one of the problems or potentials of Washington DC.

Maybe, you know of other groups or individuals in the Washington metropolitan area who have never had a forum—electronic or otherwise. Please share this message with them and encourage them to share their voices and experiences. You could be the bridge to a new experiment in social action.

Social Forums are popping up in parts of South America, Africa, and Europe and now they have begun in New York City, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC. Each city shapes them differently but they have this in common: they are "open meeting places for reflective thinking, democratic debate of ideas, formulation of proposals, free exchange of experiences and interlinking for effective action, by groups and movements of civil society." —World Social Forum website.

On May 18 people may actively begin building toward conferences, actions, rallies, documentaries, pilot which will take place during the first social forum September 21 – October 2. Or people may simply want to exchange best practices, share resources, or find new allies who are passionate about the same issues.

If you would like to set up an issue-based discussion circle, please contact:
