forwarded from Sue Wheaton:
Dec. 10, International Human Rights Day, is a day to protest war in a
variety of venues, supporting allied peace organizations and sending
a clear message that the people are against war in Iraq. Plan to
Begin the day at 8:30 am at a D.C. military recruitment center;
Join the rally and march at Farragut Square at noon; and
Protest between 4:30 and 7 at 918 Pennsylvania Avel, SE outside the
war propagandist and war profiteering "Committee for the Liberation
of Iraq. (Gingrich, Woolsey and Bob Kerry are members).
See details below. See you on the 10th!
8:30a.m. Military Recruitment Station
The following is a call to action to protest at the Military
Recruitment Center in DC on Dec. 10, which is being organized by a
coalition of groups.
What: Recruit for Peace, Justice and Liberation, Not War
When: Tuesday, December 10 @ 8:30am
Where: Military Recruitment Center at 1119 F St, NW
Despite Iraq's acceptance of UN resolutions and compliance with
inspectors, the US state continues to prepare for another deadly war
for oil against the sanctions-stricken people of Iraq. Nothing, it
seems, is going to get in the way of Bush and Co. waging a war to
control the very large and profitable oil reserves in Iraq. That's
because this war is about more than Middle Eastern oil. It's about a
new US imperialism which will resort to a permanent state of war,
the "war on terrorism", to dominate the world and the global economy.
Not only are they willing to spend hundreds of billions of dollars on
this at a time when the US economy is faltering, unemployment is
rising, and social services are being cut but they're willing to
sacrifice the lives of youth, workers, and the poor--the very people
who are forced to enlist in the military to escape such economic
problems--to wage this imperialist war.
That's why on Tuesday, December 10 we're saying, "Don't let them take
OUR brothers and sisters off to fight THEIR war!".
Join us at 8:30 AM as we protest and transform the Military
Recruitment Center at 1119 F St, NW (12th and F Sts) into a
recruitment center for fighters for peace, justice, and liberation
instead of war, death, and destruction.
For those who can't join us, we're asking that you make resistance
visible by carrying out similar actions at recruitment centers and
tables in your communities and schools, including ROTC and JROTC
programs.
We can stop this war!

Noon Rally and March - Farragut Square
Say No to War in Iraq! Come to a noon rally at Farragut Square
(Farragut North Metro, 17th & Conn.) on December
10, International Human Rights Day, followed by a march (east on K
St.;
south on 16th St., west on H St., then north on
17th St. and back to Farragut). Send a clear message to the Bush
Administration that violence does not bring peace.
Sponsored by D.C. United for Peace -- the DC Anti-War Network (DAWN),
American Friends Service Committee, D, C.and others
4:30-7 p.m., 918 Pennsylvania Ave. SE, Office of Committee for
the "Liberation" of Iraq
This committee is a private propaganda office set up in conjunction
with the Bush Administration to help beat the drums for war agains
Iraq. Newt Gingrich, former CIA director James Woolsey and alleged
Viertnam war criminal Bob Kerry are only three members of the rogue's
gallery of right wingers and war profiteers that make up this
organzation. Come show these propaganda ministers that true
liberation means the right of people everywhere to live in a world
where human lives are more important than oil profits.
Peace is a human right.
The right to live is human right!
