PLEASE TAKE 5 Minutes of your busy schedule to help low-income seniors
in DC who have been cut-off from life saving prescription benefits!!!
Members of the Emergency Coalition To Restore Prescription Benefits for
Seniors will be going to City Council offices today- Wednesday. We
want you to call the City Council offices to help us put pressure on
them. We have two demands:
1)DC governement to restore the program which allowed low income
seniors to receive free prescription benefits. This service has been
in existence for 30 years and allowed seniors to get needed medication
that they otherwise could not afford because Medicare does not cover
prescriptions. We now have seniors going without medication or taking
only half the dosage to make their supplies last longer!!
2)The City Council hold an emergency public hearing!! Too many people
including our Council Members do not know that these services have been
cut.
We are asking that you call just a few Council Members-
1) Sandy Allen is the Chair of the Committee on Human Services
2) Linda Cropp is the Council Chair
3) Your Ward Councilmember
