Friends,
What: Rally to Keep DC Death Penalty Free
When: Tuesday, July 23rd at 5 PM
Where: 555 Fourth St. NW; near Judiciary Square Metro
Who: CEDP, ACLU, NCADP, ISO, Amnesty, and others
Federal prosecutors are seeking the death sentence
against two district residents: Rodney Moore and Kevin
Gray. This outrage comes after DC residents have
repeatedly rejected the death penalty, both through
popular referendum and through their elected
representatives. Worse, Attorney General Ashcroft
continues to override local standards and push for
more executions despite national trends towards
halting or limiting the death penalty.
We must not let this outrage go unchallenged! Let's
organize to Keep DC death penalty free!
Join us for a rally outside the US Attorney's Office
(the person who must sign-off on every death penalty
trial in DC) at 555 Fourth St. NW, Washington DC (near
Judiciary Square Metro) at 5 PM.
Featured speakers will include:
Shujah Graham, former death row inmate
Rev. Graylan Hagler, Plymouth Congregational Church
Johnny Barnes, ACLU, National Capital Area
Mellisa Mitchell, Amnesty International
and others.
Fight for democracy and justice!
No death penalty in DC!
In Solidarity,
Michael Stark
