[mgj-discuss] Messsaging of combined mobe for Spring

I think I've figured out how to message a combined mobilization for the Spring IMF/WB meetings. If we can combine at least half of last Spring's turnout(requiring that we all work together and not have competing events) with this past fall's focus on action, we can give the capitalists a real headache. We then say it's just a taste of what ANY national leader can expect in his hometown if he agrees to IMF demands and conditions.
The whole point, in my opinion, of Seattle, A16, etc. was NOT to get newspaper coverage inside the US but rather to warn all national governments against signing the WTO or FTAA treaty, taking IMF loans and conditions, etc. The TRUE audience is the summit participant nations-whose intelligence services will surely inform of what really happens even if he US press does nothing and they are nervously huddled behind barricades and don't see us.
While we have only shut a few summits down outright(WEF/Australia, Seattle, Prague), EVERY big convergence is a small sample of the Argentina-scale resistance that neoliberal programs frequently face in the affected countries. So they have the summit, launch the round, whatever-if the deals are dead on arrival in foreign legislatures, than the summits become irrelevent.
The war focus(on whatever war Bush is fighting or threatening in April-will it even be Colombia?) will also work in our favor on this. It will tell the "Banana Republics" not to expect any more US help, and the other regimes that the US threat is being reined in, so why should they submit to US/IMF demands? Nobody in the global South has any problem connecting neoliberalism and US militarism. We also should see the hidden fist behind the hidden hand of the market(it is said that McDonald's could not exist without McDonnel-Douglas), and seek to smash it with a "fist" of our own!
If we link the issues and treat national leaders as our primary audience,we can directly interfere with ALL of the objectives of Bu$h,Wolfensohn, Shittybank, McDeath(both of them!), and so on.
It matters less what the War-shington post prints about than about national leaders being shown the consequences of agreeing to more neoliberal savagery. One of these consequences should be shown to be a coming together of all their enemies to resist these programs.
