Last Chance to Tell Congress-Listen To Your Constituents: No War on Iraq!

Wednesday, October 9, 5 PM
Protest at the Capitol Building,
Meet at Upper Senate Park
(North of the Capitol, across Constitution Ave.)

The Bush Administration wants to drag the United States into a disastrous
military venture against a country that has not attacked us. They want to
wage a war that could lead to the deaths of tens of thousands of innocent
Iraqis and many US troops, a war that would alienate people all over the
world and make us more vulnerable to attacks here at home, a war that makes
a mockery of international law, a war that would cost about $200 billion at
a time when our schools and hospitals are starved for funds. And Congress is
about to endorse this reckless effort--the vote on a war resolution could
come as early as Thursday!

Please join Peace Action, Global Exchange, EPIC (Education for Peace in
Iraq), Black Voices for Peace, American Friends Service Committee,
Washington Peace Center, Nonviolence International, DAWN (DC Anti-War
Network), Code Pink, National Network to End the War Against Iraq, and many
other peace and justice organizations in calling on our Senators and
Representatives to resist the pressure of the Bush Administration and stand
up for peace. We have a small window of opportunity to stop this war before
it starts. Let us seize the moment!

Bring noisemakers (whistles, pots and pans) and No War on Iraq signs!
