www.targetoil.com & www.unitedforpeace.org
What: "No War for Oil" Protest at the API
When: Tuesday, February 4th at 12 p.m. (Noon)
Where: 1220 L St., NW Washington DC (Look for Giant Inflatable Oil Barrel
and Banner)
Why: Join us on Tuesday, February 4th at noon in front of the American
Petroleum Institute on 1220 L St., NW, Washington, DC, as people all over
the country and the world demonstrate in front of gas stations to send the
message that access to oil is not worth the price of American casualties and
the lives of innocent civilians.
BRING BANNERS, SIGNS, ARTWORK, STREET THEATER, FACE PAINT AND OTHER
SPECTACLES!!!
Among other political factors, there is a clear and manifest link between
the Bush administration's push for war in Iraq and the oil fields to be
gained there (for more info go to
http://www.targetoil.com/article.php?id=22). This is best displayed by the
double standard in dealing with North Korea. The administration is willing
to take diplomatic steps toward disarming North Korea, while at the same
time they are trying their best to disrupt the inspections process in Iraq.
(If broccoli was the #1 export in Iraq Bush and Cheney WOULD NOT be starting
a war)
Therefore, we need to peacefully assemble in front of those places that
represent the oil industry and educate people about the clean energy
alternatives to oil that exist, which can increase our security and give us
true energy independence.
Let's take to the streets to stop the Big Oil war profiteers from starting
an unnecessary war!
