Hi all,
I too support a contribution to JwJ, the unrequited nature of our love for
them notwithstanding :) And I'm in town this week, so I can help out with
whatever stuff that needs to get done. Hendrik, any further word on a
meeting space or time?
in solidarity,
mark

Hi Hendrik, thanks for your response. By $ scale I think you mean the
cost to attendees of the JWJ fundraiser? It's give what you can, no
amount specified.

Since we consensed in a general meeting to join JwJ-DC, I feel that it
makes sense for us to also follow through with the committments that
come
along with that decision. Many thanks to Gwen for investing so much
work
into this and representing MGJ!
Adam brought up that we might want to get organized again in order to do
something for November and there was some support for that idea. Should
we have a meeting? Depending on what the $ scale for the JwJ fundraiser
is, we could see if we'll have critical mass there and meet following
the
event in some meeting room in the AFL-CIO NATIONAL HEADQUATERS (Tom, do
you think you would you be able to set that up?)
OR two other options would be to meet prior to the Tuesday, 7pm July
15th
Film Showing of "In Washington's Backyard - Roots of a Rebellion"
(documentary about the Mount Pleasant Rebellion -
http://www.showing.net.ms) or prior to the Wednesday, 7pm July 16th Film
Showing of "The Land, The Street, The Square" (Italy IMC production
about
the uprising in Argentina - http://www.showing.net.ms)both at "La Casa"
on
Mount Pleasant Street NW (3166) - I could check to reserve the meeting
room at "La Casa" from 6-7pm on either day.
