Protect Working Families at Syms!
An ACTION ALERT from the Metro Washington Council,
AFL-CIO
May 30, 2003
Workers at area Syms have voted to strike June 7 if their
employer continues to insist on wiping out hard-won benefits
and engaging in bad faith bargaining. You can support
the workers by clicking here now and telling Syms you
won't shop there until they settle a fair contract:

The workers, represented by UFCW Locals 400 and 27, are
resisting the attempt by Syms to strip them of medical/hospitalization
benefits and replace them with a company plan, which could
result in reduced benefits. In a blatantly unfair and
unlawful tactic, Syms has refused to provide information
about how its plan compares to the existing strong and
safe benefits that currently protect workers and their
families.
Health insurance is too important to allow companies to
destroy by engaging in bad faith bargaining: tell Syms
that until they choose to be fair to their workers you'll
choose to spend your money elsewhere; click here now!
