Dear Friends,
Though I understand reservations are going fast, you can still take part
in this rare opportunity to meet and work with the internationally
acclaimed founder of the Center for Nonviolent Communication, Marshall
Rosenberg. If you're not able to be in New York for this it might be
worthwhile passing the information along to your NY friends and
co-workers.
Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is a way of thinking, a process and a
language of empathy and honesty. It strengthens our ability to connect
with others, as well as ourselves, in fulfilling ways.
How we communicate has tremendous ramifications for the health of our
families, our relationships with friends, co-workers, our intimate
relationships, and in political and other social change circles.
Collectively, how we communicate with each other affects society and the
world. NVC training has the potential to significantly elevate our
communication awareness and skills.
It's rare that Marshall is in New York, this being only the second visit
in 20 years, and he spends much of his time outside the U.S. So these
gatherings are a real opportunity! Below is a calendar of
meetings/workshops that Marshall will be leading while he is in NYC.

We encourage social change activists focused on a common cause and other
organization co-workers to attend the April 14th gathering together
whenever possible. As a group you can absorb a new vocabulary with
immediately applicable tools and ideas that can transform how you work
together, how your group connects to supporters, donors, other groups,
as well as how you get your message out to the public.
During this April 14th gathering, Marshall Rosenberg, who is an Advisory
Board member of We, The World, will lead a special commemoration and
signing of the Global Declaration of Interdependence as represented by a
derivation of the Earth Charter. This will be the first of many public
signings leading to 11 Days in September - Celebrating Our Global
InterdependenceSept. 11-21, 2004 - a convergence of multi-country events
including festivals, concerts, broadcasts and civic actions that will
promote social, environmental and political awareness and involvement,
culminating in the UN designated International Day of Peace Sept. 21st.
