****Focus:: Business Theories and Negotiation Tools for facilitators***
or, What can trainers and activists learn from negotiation trainers in the
business world?
Host: **SPecial Guest::Jenny Beer (Micheal 's sister!)
Jenny Beer is an internationally known mediation trainer based in
Philadelphia. She has a Phd in Anthropology from Berkeley.
Comments from the Host:
This evening we'll look at negotiation training as another angle onto the
topics of conflict resolution and strategic action. I teach
Negotiation & Dispute Resolution at Wharton (Penn's business school) and
am exploring ways to bring business theories and strategies of negotiation
to
the communities that really need it. We'll do one roleplay exercise, and
talk about some of the concepts and self-understanding that can unfold from
it. We will also have time to talk about how ideas from negotiation
training might offer a useful approach to some perennial training topics --
power and leverage, political strategy, active listening, persuasion,
decision-making.
****this IS part of an ongoing series of trainers' skillshares, workshops
for the public and trainings for trainers!!! Feel free to pass this
invitation on to other facilitators, workshop leaders and trainers from
any discipline that would be interested in engaged skillshares and
building our collective resources.
PROPOSED SCHEDULE::
JUNE: Multicultural COnflict Resolution (hosts:Bette Hoover and TBD)
JULY: YOur Idea HERE!
