Allen Keiswetter - retired, Senior Foreign Service officer, U.S. State Dept. (served in six Middle East countries); currently an Adjunct Scholar at the Middle East Institute.

Energy is the life-blood of modern society.  In the U.S., we are particularly dependent on oil to drive our economy.  How does this affect our relationship with the rest of the world?  Are there alternatives that  we can  transition to?
