They were struck by the spirit and poverty of the world's first Black Republic, which had once been the richest country in the hemisphere. There will also be a discussion with the Director of TransAfrica, Bill Fletcher, about US involvement in Haiti and what can be done to restore true democracy to the island nation. Other Haitians and Haitian activists have been invited to join the discussion and answer people's questions.
