Sunday, April 17, 2:00-5:00pm - "WE ARE FAMILY" COMMUNITY PROJECT
James Senior Apartments, 1425 N Street NW

The Mobilization for Global Justice strives to connect the relationships between
global struggles against neoliberalism and corporate greed and local struggles
against the same privatizing, alienating, and destructive policies in our own
communities. In that spirit, and in the theme of constructing a better world,
join us on April 17th as we work with We Are Family, a local DC community
group, to reach out to seniors in the North Capitol and Shaw neighborhoods of
DC.

Interested volunteers are invited to gather at 2pm in the community room of the
James Senior Apartments, 1425 N Street NW, near the McPherson Square metro.
Breakfast foods like bagels, juice, and fruit will be provided. After a brief
orientation, teams of volunteers will be sent to visit seniors in the building
or in nearby neighborhoods. After two or three visits, the teams will reconvene
in the James community room between 4 and 5pm to share their experiences, and
pass on any concerns for WAF follow-up.

IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT YOU SIGN UP if you would like to participate, since the
number of visits set up will be based on how many volunteers are expected to
come. For more information about the project, and to sign up, go to We are
Family Community Project.
THE DEADLINE FOR SIGNING UP IS THE NIGHT OF APRIL 15, SO PLEASE SIGN UP ASAP!
