in Asheville, NC now volunteering to help set up a media center for the
Mountain Justice Summer 2006 movement

Last week I attended the MJS Training Camp in West Virginia, and left very
impressed with the strength of the grassroots campaign here in Appalachia
against the ecological destruction of mountain-top removal (MTR)
coal-mining!

I'll be here in Asheville  all this month, but in July I'll return to DC,
and a venue is needed for a Global Justice teach-in & trainings on Sunday,
July 9th!

This would be the kick-off event for the July 9-16 Gr8 Eight Days of
Resistance in Washington, DC, against G8 Great Greed!! (

Could People's Media Cafe be our venue for this? Ideally, we'd want
educational workshops (on energy, climate & global justice issues, etc)
running simultaneously with trainings (direct action, legal, medical, etc)
from approx.10 am to 6 pm followed by a spokescouncil meeting & concluded in
the evening with a benefit concert?

Please let me know any additional information you need, and your thoughts
about this proposal! And, if you're looking for any interviews with Mountain
Justice activists, I can help set them up :-)
