[mgj-discuss] Jubilee Poetry Auditions

Jubilee USA's first-ever Celebration is coming in October! As an homage 
to the longstanding bond between activism and art, two sections of the 
program have been reserved for a collaborative poetry performance 
created by members of the DC area poetry community.

*When:* Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006, 6p-7:30p

*Where:* Jubilee USA headquarters

222 E. Capitol St. NE, Washington, DC 20003

We're the building on the left attached to the Lutheran Church of the 
Reformation, and across the street from the Shakespeare Library and 
Libraries of Congress. The nearest Metro stop is Capitol South. When 
people arrive for the audition, there will be someone outside to greet them.

The poets auditioning don't have to write anything for the audition; 
only perform something of their own. We don't have a quota of people we 
need for the pieces (there are two separate ones...one at the beginning 
of the program, one at the end), only the need for impassioned voices to 
discuss the Jubilee mission of debt cancellation in the developing world 
as a means of ending poverty worldwide.

Poets selected for the performance will receive: a thank you in the 
program; a complimentary meal the night of the performance; and will be 
able to display their fliers, info and sell CDs after the Celebration ends.
