Emergency Response Protest at the Offices of
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE):

Stop the Raids and Deportations!
We Support Elvira Arellano!

425 'Eye' St. NW, Washington D.C.
Thursday, August 23rd, 4 pm-6 pm

Sponsored by the D.C. Alliance for Immigrant Justice
and the Metro D.C. Interfaith Sanctuary Network

On Sunday, immigration agents arrested Elvira Arellano
after she spoke at a church in Los Angeles. Within a
day, Arellano was deported, with no public hearing or
consideration for her 8-year old son Saul, who is a
U.S. citizen. Elvira Arellano has been a powerful
leader in the movement for immigrant rights, and has
helped to shape the New Sanctuary Movement among
communities of faith giving solidarity to undocumented
immigrants.

By deporting Elvira Arellano, Immigration and Customs
Enforcement is sending a message that no one is safe
from their raids and deportations. We are
demonstrating to say no to this campaign of terror,
and to declare that the sanctuary movement will
continue until there is meaningful legalization for
all immigrants. We demand an end to raids and
deportations and call upon Washington D.C. to become a
sanctuary city. Join us to build the movement for
immigrant justice!
