(a) Basav to contact Fondasyon Mapou and Friends of the Congo.

4. Format/layout:
(a) Flyer with Call to Action on one side, current Save the Date flyer on the other.
(b) Layout change on current Save the Date flyer – make text a little more readable.
(c) Added text on current Save the Date flyer – names and contact info on pointpersons for specific components of actions (see under “Targets and Actions” below), so people who see the flyer can plug into specific parts of the mobilization.

B. Targets and Actions

1. Types of actions we’ve (tentatively) planned to do, along with “pointpersons” listed on the flyer:
(a) Direct action Nicole
(b) March and rally Roxanne
(c) Mock trial (media event)	Jesse
(d) Gentrification tour and radical history tour Ruth
(e) Teachins/educational events Basav
Note, the “pointperson” is not a “convenor” but just a point of contact for people who want to get involved, but don’t feel like they can plunge in head first, and want to be involved in only a bite-sized piecce of the mobilization.

2. For gentrification and radical history tour: get in touch with One DC and Empower DC et. al. to see if they want to do a tour with out-of-town (as well as local) activists. We can have people RSVP/sign up.

C. Outreach

For today, we focused on outreach to organizations to get them involved in these meetings. Later, with more organizations involved, we will talk more in-depth about outreach beyond activist circles.

1. “Ask” for organizations we talk to:
(a) Briefly inform them about what we are planning.
(b) Ask them if there are ways to integrate our actions with what they are working on, i.e. if we can tailor our actions in ways that support their struggles.
(c) Ask them to come to planning meetings if they can – no pressure!
(d) Ask if we can send 1-2 people to their meeting to do a brief presentation and answer questions about our October activities. (Shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes of their meeting time in total.)
(e) Ask them if they want to do a joint workshop/teach-in with us.
(f) Ask them if they can help with outreach for October – if we send them electronic announcements, flyers, etc., can they help circulate them?
(g) Ask them what else they think they can do to assist with the October mobilization.

2. Local outreach (based on the above “asks”):
Oscar Empower DC, Save Our Schools
Luke SDS
Marco Mexicanos sin Fronteras, DC FMLN
Ruth African Immigrant and Refugee Foundation, Luci Murphy
Jesse Plymouth UCC, One DC
Basav COPPAC, Katarungan, KAWAN, Jobs with Justice, SHAII
Nicole UMD Media Collective, Committee to Save Franklin Shelter

D. USSF
