Hey,
Thanks for the heads up Ruth (and welcome back Lacy!!!! Can't wait to
catch up.)

MGJ has always gone through phases of meeting/not meeting/barely
meeting. When I first got involved MGJ wasn't meeting and really
didn't have any active participants (it had been that way for a
while). A few folks got together and organized a series of pickets of
the CAFTA meetings using the MGJ name. Over time meeting became more
regular and we moved back into St. Stephens. We did some film
screenings, co-organized some events and organized vans to Miami for
the FTAA protests before finally deciding to do a mobilization in the
spring. It was almost an entirely new crop of participants in MGJ at
that point with some help and insight from folks who had be involved
in the past. So a lack of meeting doesn't mean MGJ can't start back up
at anytime and certainly doesn't mean MGJ doesn't exist. There is a
treasure trove of institutional memory, props and supplies laying all
over DC just waiting for some excited hands to take hold of them. It
just takes some excited individuals. Like Lacy said there are a lot of
things coming up. MGJ is a good place for folks to plug in who want to
work on globalization issues and as in the past it can take on the
character of the amount of work participants want to put in.

I'm happy to help out in terms of passing on what I know and some of
the stuff I have that's MGJ's plus info I have on contacts for meeting
spaces, etc to anyone whose looking to get MGJ meeting again.

Peace,
Morrigan
