Subject: Ark construction - this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday!
To: Sarah Murphy <sarah at actionfactories.org>
Today we went to the lumber yard and got: 120 2x4's (12' and 16'), more
than 60 plywood boards, 4'x8' each, and lots of screws to hold them all
together! Looking at all of that wood (well, after lifting all of it into
the truck) I had shivers, not because of the cold, but because I realised
that* we are indeed building an Ark to save ourselves from climate
catastrophe. *This Ark will send a powerful message to Obama, Congress,
and leaders all over the world, that we need bold climate solutions in
Copenhagen. Plus, when was the last time you built an Ark? :)
Our permit on the Mall starts Wednesday morning, *can you come build the Ark
anytime between 8am-5pm on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday? *
If carpentry isn't your thing, we also need help painting banners and signs,
posting flyers, creating 2D animals (in pairs, of course!) and a whole
variety of other tasks. There is plenty to do in preparation for the
candlelight vigil on Saturday, December 12, we could definitely use your
It will be easy to find us on the Mall, between 12th and 13th streets - look
for the green hard hats (yes, you can have one). We'll have lots of snacks
to share, as well as some tools and work gloves. Please bring your own work
gloves and tools if you can, especially cordless drills. And it will be
cold outside, so wear warm work clothes!
Please tell me when you can come and build a huge Ark.

p.p.s. Can you forward this email to your friends who like to build crazy
stuff in DC?
